10 Baby Colic Maneuvers

Filed under: colic, colic advice — colicshop @ 10:12 pm
  1. Rock. Use a rocking chair or glider to rock baby steadily.
  2. Drive. The hum from the car or windows along with the motion often helps.
  3. Sway. Side to side. I see parents doing this long after their colicky baby is over colic. Once you get in the habit it’s hard to stop
  4. Bounce. Bouncing with a colicky baby often helps get the gas out and entertain them as the same time.
  5. Lunge. This is hard on the legs and back but often keeps baby happy for short times.
  6. Wrap. Swaddling baby is a great way to help them feel safe and secure. Swaddling is liked by most babies not just colicky ones.
  7. Burp. We often did this while rocking and/or swaying. Softly burping baby can help.
  8. Belly Massage. Rubbing baby’s tummy often helped get the gas out.
  9. Shhh. Shhh. Shhh. We used a vacuum cd all night until he was over 1yr old.
  10. Sing. Sometimes a song would help baby or just lift our spirits

Vacuum CD Helps With Colic

Filed under: colic, colic advice — colicshop @ 9:13 am

If you are asking yourself why would anyone buy a CD of a vacuum cleaner running, the answer is simple. It works!

We created this simple CD because it worked for us. Babies love the sound of white noise. Turn on your vacuum cleaner and see how your baby calms down and relaxes immediately. These CDs are great because they:

  1. Help calm baby down
  2. Conceal background sounds so you don’t wake baby up before you want to

You are not alone

We know how stressful it can be to have a colicky baby. Whether you are stuck home with a crying baby all day long or coming home from a long day’s work, having a baby that cries all the time is very stressful!

Here are three tips to get through it:

  1. Stay calm - I know this is easier said than done. Crying alone will not hurt your baby. If you feel like you are loosing your cool, call someone, or put baby down in a safe place like their crib and leave the room for a minute to calm down. Never hurt your baby
  2. Take a break or take turns. If there is someone helping you, ask them to watch the baby for a short period of time so you can relax or get some sleep. Take turns with the other parent if you can.
  3. Participate in a colic support group like www.ColicSupport.com to connect with other stressed out parents like yourself
